CATHY SALMONS, LCSW, THERAPIST

My goal is to support healing of the whole person—mind, body and emotions—by meeting you where you are; listening to your whole story, and sharing tools to help you move forward in your own creative, dynamic way.

As a licensed clinical social worker with specialized training in trauma/PTSD, I have worked with adults, adolescents, combat veterans, very young children and seniors. I have practiced in large agencies and small preschools; a rural VA hospital and a vast primary care medical system that spans three Florida counties. I have seen at first-hand how trauma can impact relationships and development across the life cycle; I have also witnessed tremendous resilience and healing.

I operate from the principle that all forms of stress—from severe trauma to loss of a loved one, relationship problems or workplace distress—can injure mind, body and emotions, creating depression and anxiety symptoms, and undermining self-esteem. As a lifelong dancer, dance teacher, and published researcher on the benefits of movement therapy, I also know that stress and trauma can impact physical health, and that soothing, therapeutic movement can aid in the process of healing. I draw from a wide range of experience, techniques and established therapies, to find a combined approach that meets your needs, and helps you find your own path to a happier, more balanced life.
